• 10. We propose introducing a repairability score only for BEVs for the following reasons: considering that the sale of new internal combustion vehicles (ICVs) will be phased out 2035, so the development of a methodology for a new index for this period of time would be ineffective. Further, if an index was introduced for all types of vehicle engine types, this might run the risk of misleading comparisons between electric and internal combustion vehicles (ICVs). Considering the different technologies, their repairability is difficult to compare, but would be presented by the same index and scale, which could likely be confusing to consumers.
